New video shows just how big Paris is One piece Mural created.
Glénat Manga, French publisher of One pieceShe shared the behind-the-scenes video on her official Twitter account. The video shows how the crew created a massive piece of art, which depicts many of the characters who participated in the rock raid on Onigashima, including series hero Monkey D. Luffy, the primary antagonist of Kaido’s arc and his rebellious daughter Yamato, in a larger-than-life scale. The fresco was erected at Gare Montparnasse, one of the busiest railway stations in Paris. Work was put to promote the release of One pieceVolume 101 collected in the region.
This isn’t the first time a publisher has put out a huge piece of manga artwork to promote the release of a title in France. Last year, French publisher Kazé covered the Bibliothèque Nationale de France with a huge mural Kaiju No. 8 to promote the series’ launch in the country.
While the Glénat mural is not very large, it depicts one of the biggest battles in One piece24 years of history. The Battle of Onigashima was one of the most important events of the Wano Country arc and saw the Straw Hat Pirates form an alliance with several other major pirate crews to take down the Kaidou and the Beast Pirates. The long-term arc started in 2018 and is still going. The anime adaptation of the arc began in 2019 and continued through the latest episode of the critically acclaimed series, which outlined Yamato’s backstory and history with Ace.
While One piece Popular all over the world, it found a particularly receptive audience in France, where the long-running manga managed to sell 5.6 million copies in 2021 alone. Last year, series creator Ichiro Oda gifted recently re-elected French President Emmanuel Macron a special picture of Luffy and the other Straw Hat Pirates, thanking French fans for making the series such a success in the region. Macron responded by tweeting a thank you letter to Oda in French and Japanese.
Since its inception in 1998, Eiichiro Oda One piece It managed to become the best-selling manga of all time, with over half a billion copies circulating around the world. The series tells the story of Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who dreams of becoming the Pirate King. The manga has been adapted into an equally successful anime series and is also being adapted into a live show on Netflix, which is currently being filmed in Cape Town, South Africa.
The entire animated series is available to stream on Crunchyroll, while select seasons and many of the franchise’s animation features are available to stream on Netflix. The manga is available in English from VIZ Media.
