Amber Heard denies allegations that Johnny Depp helped her secure the role of Mera in the DC Extended Universe films Justice League and Aquaman.

During Heard’s fourth day at the stand of Depp’s ongoing trial against the actor, Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez asked Heard under questioning how she obtained Aquaman Job. to me UNILADVasquez Heard asked, “Mr. Depp got you this role Aquaman, is not it? The actor replied, ‘Excuse me? After Vazquez repeated the question, Heard declared the claim a lie. He signed in 2016 to play for Mira Justice Squad (2017) and Aquaman (2018).
Heard’s participation in the DC franchise was a point of contention during the trial. The actress has been repeatedly asked about her role in the upcoming sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023). “I fought so hard to survive in [Lost Kingdom]Heard testified on May 16. They didn’t want to include me in the movie.” Heard added that although she is involved in lost kingdomit’s “a very shortened version of that role.”
The actress explained that her role was severely curtailed after multiple revisions to the script. “I received a script,” she explained. “Then I was given new versions of the script that cropped the scenes that made an impact, portraying my character and another character, without giving any spoilers. Two characters fighting with each other. They basically took over a set from my role. They just removed a set.”
Negative publicity from the trial led to a Change.org petition calling on Warner Bros. And DC to remove Heard from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Resurrection. The petition is currently at 4,247,101 signatures at the time of writing and continues to grow exponentially. Warner Bros. has not commented. publicly to revive the petition, but producer Peter Safran commented on the petition in 2021. He stated that the studio would never have “responded, honestly, to pure fan pressure. You have to do better for a movie. We felt that if James Wan and Jason Momoa, It should be Amber Heard. That’s what it really was.”
Depp Heard sued for $50 million in defamation case for a 2018 Washington Post op-ed detailing her alleged experience with domestic violence. Depp claims the editorial ruined his career and cost him $22.5 million on day six Pirates of the Caribbean Movie. He also maintains that Heard was the actual abuser in their relationship. Heard denied the charges and sued Depp for $100 million in a defamation case. The trial began in April and is due to conclude on May 27 when it will be presented to the jury for deliberation.
