I heard “liberation drums” many times in the story before chapter 1043!

Something I haven’t seen much mentioned here, although Japanese fans are starting to catch on, is that liberation drums have been heard before in the story.

I don’t know what this means but the sound effects for “ド ” / Dondotto in chapter 1043 have been used many times in Skypiea arc (and not always in a positive way)

Chapter 1043. Liberation Drums

Chapter 253

Chapter 300: Luffy’s silhouette reminds me of a lot of theories that say Luffy is united by two opposing forces (the sun and the moon).

Interestingly enough, it has not always been used in a positive context. 400 years ago in Gaya, it was used during human sacrifice. Maybe that means that the sun’s positive/negative energy comes in 400 years?

Chapter 287: The first “god” in the list of deities to be sacrificed for is the “sun god”. Since the entire ceremony is centered around worshiping the ancestors and bringing their souls back to their homeland, this seems to indicate that Joy Boy/Sun God Nika may have been from Gaya, but left and never came back.

Chapter 289: The same drum is heard. Also, the class name is “Full Moon”. It’s hard not to associate Wano with all the moon-themed hues.

I’ve also searched a bunch of other party scenes and as far as I know, ド used only in Skypiea before it was mentioned in Wano. What does this mean?????
