Naruto Baryon mode is a unique alteration that Kurama, one of the Nine-Tailed Tunes, can achieve using his Jinchuuriki. As the perfect Jinchuuriki Kurama, Naruto Uzumaki has access to the Nine-Tails chakra mode in many forms, making him one of the most powerful characters in the Narutoverse. Throughout his ninja career, Naruto Uzumaki has unlocked a variety of forms and transformations, including the Demon Fox Cloak Form during the Sasuke Recovery Mission arc and the Asura Kurama form, which he used to defeat Sasuke. The most popular transformations in Naruto are the frog-inspired Sage Mode, the Jinchuuriki Nine-Tails Mode, and the Kurama Mode.
Naruto was physically outnumbered in his usual Kurama mode, even with Sasuke Uchiha’s support, due to the rise of a new opponent, Isshiki Otsutsuki. When it seemed as if all hope had been lost, Kurama revealed a previously unrevealed ace that Naruto could still summon, although at the cost of his life, detailing his inherent distinctions from the Sage and Kurama statuses.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 216“Sacrifice”, adapted from chapter 55 of the manga, was the first time Baryon Mode was seen. The duel between Isshiki and Naruto is the premise of this episode.
What is the status of a baryon?
Baryon mode is Naruto’s new look with Kurama. It entails breaking Naruto’s chakra and the nine-tailed chakra together in a manner similar to nuclear fusion, creating entirely new energy, according to Kurama. Kurama compares the transformation to the process of nuclear fusion with the Sun, noting that by uniting the beads of the previous shapes, the new shape shows a strong energy interaction. The name baryon comes from a type of energy particle. While the realistic Baryon won’t turn you into an infernal killing machine, the name refers to the nuclear nature of Naruto’s latest upgrade.
Naruto’s face and hair take on the features of the Nine-Tails, and on his chest, the Uzumaki emblem with Kurama’s tails swirling around the figures, representing their unification. Naruto’s whiskers also thicken, and the pigments around his eyes turn black and grow upward, resembling temporary fox ears. Baryon Mode is much more powerful than any of Naruto’s previous transformations. In the Baryon mode, the Hokage easily avoids Isshiki’s blows and the villain Otsutsuki may fall with a well-placed elbow. However, in Kurama’s setting, he struggles to deliver a decent hit. The toxic effect of Baryon’s pose with each hit with increased speed, agility, and overall strength is perhaps the greatest benefit of this technique. Isshiki Otsutsuki’s life was steadily depleted with each blow made by Naruto, similar to radiation poisoning, hinting that the transformation might shorten the opponent’s life during battle.
Kurama claims that one simple hit on the target will be enough to win in Baryon mode. Unfortunately, this power has a significant drawback. In his previous incarnations, Naruto had to combine his chakra with Kurama and then defuse the fuse once the battle was over. Both Naruto and Kurama’s Baryon style chakra is exhausted and cannot be restored, which is why the form ends up dying.
The Baryon mode is clearly superior to the other Naruto modes. However, it is difficult to determine whether this is his strongest form throughout the history of the series. Naruto’s baryon has the upper hand against Ishiki, but the Otsutsuki isn’t fighting at full strength now. The Sage of Six Paths is a Sage who has traveled in all six paths. With the support of his allies Sasuke and Sakura, Naruto was able to defeat Kaguya Otsutsuki. At that time, Naruto’s Six Paths Sage Style seemed to be more powerful than Baryon. However, Naruto does not die when he uses Baryon mode because the transformation feeds on the Kurama chakra instead. While this is particularly favorable, the disadvantages of Baryon Mode war clearly outweigh its benefits, and Naruto is supposed to be used as a last-ditch effort rather than a regular transformation, giving him a powerful but limited ability.

Can other jinchurikis use baryon mode?
Since Baryon mode can only be used when both the host and Tailed Demons are in agreement and have a very compatible dynamic, some Jinchuurikis may not be able to use it. For example, Gaara was not able to do this, as before the loss of Shukaku, they hated each other, and when he grew up, he lost the demon when he became the first sacrifice to summon the ten-tailed beast. In addition to Fu, the jinchuriki of the seven-tailed fox chome, who died at the hands of the Akatsuki when they extracted the beast from her.
Baryon mode is a really difficult style with very high stakes, and it’s proven that even Naruto can achieve it once in his life and only as a last resort. This technique is also dangerous as either side will have to supply the chakra, and if too much of it is depleted, one of them will die.
Hypothetically, there is little chance of Killer Bee and Gyuki, the eight-tailed demonic bull, achieving Baryon status due to their good relationship. However, none of the Jinchuurikis were as compatible as Naruto with Kurama, so if they wanted to achieve a cool feat like Baryon’s status, they would have to be consistent with their cultivation and really be one with their demons.
