Scream 4 member Hayden Panettiere returns to the franchise for the sixth movie


scream 4 alum Hayden Panettiere returns to Woodsboro in the upcoming sixth entry in the Slash series.

In an official statement, Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures confirmed that Panettiere is about to reprise her role as horror fan Kirby Reed in the still-unofficially titled film. shout 6. The sequel is scheduled to enter production this summer before the March 31, 2023 release date.

Panettiere is joined by Melissa Barrera, Jasmine Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Gina Ortega, who have reprized their roles as Samantha Carpenter, Mindy Mix Martin, Chad Mix Martin, and Tara Carpenter, respectively, from 2022 Scream, Entering the Fifth Franchise. Additionally, franchise veteran Courteney Cox previously indicated that she will also reprise her role as Gale Weathers in shout 6.

Panettiere originated as Kirby Reed in 2011. scream 4The character quickly became a fan favorite. However, towards the end of the 2011 movie, Kirby is apparently killed, stabbing Charlie Walker (Rory Culkin), one of the Ghostface killers. That said, the original Scream Director Wes Craven strongly indicated that Kirby was still alive, noting that she was still moving when the camera cut off from her.

2022 Scream, a legacy sequel that revives the franchise on the big screen, and confirmed that Kirby was indeed alive and well. The Easter egg contains a link to a YouTube video titled “Interview with Woodsboro Survivor Kirby Reed!” – With the use of Panettiere’s latest thumbnail image.

The film was directed by Matt Pettinelli Olbin and Tyler Gillett, from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Guy Boucek, and Williamson served as executive producer. The old sequel is dedicated to Craven, who passed away in 2015. Bettinelli-Olpin, Gillett, Vanderbilt, and Busick are all back for shout 6.
