Kokushibou

The ugliness of not admitting defeat even though they took my head, chopped me up and crushed me. Living in disgrace. Have I lived hundreds of years for this? Was I so afraid of defeat that I became a monster? Did I want to be strong even if it meant eating people? Did I become this miserable creature because I didn’t want to die? No. Yoriichi… I just wanted to be you.

Kokushibo’s final moments

Kokushibo as a member in the Twelve Kizukui is the Upper-Rank number 1 ( the strongest demon after Muzan) in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

During the era of Yoriichi and the Sengoku (the Golden Age of Demon Slayers), Kokushibo’s name was Michikatsu Tsugikuni, and was just a human and a former Demon Slayer along with being the older twin brother of Yoriichi Tsugikuni who was the strongest Demon Slayer then and still in history as no one could reach his level of power even the king of demons Muzan.

There is a relation between Muichiro Tokito, Kokushibo, and Yuichiro Tokito as well as the guy responsible for turning Zenitsu Agatsuma’s senior into a demon “Kaigaku” who joined the Twelve Kizuki.

Appearance

As a Demon, his appearance didn’t change a lot from when he was a human which means a tall human with some long-spiky hair and muscles in his body with the big difference which is his eyes who become 6. His appearance is so good and majestic as the mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito described.

With a purple-and-black bee-hive patterned Nagagi kimono holding a fleshy katana covered with eyes as you will see in the gallery below.

As a Human-like, we said before he has the same appearance almost the only difference is the 6 eyes because humans have only 2 eyes as well as his pale skin.

After his head was cut off by Sanemi Shinazugawa and Gyomei Himejima, Kokushibo turned into a new grotesque manifestation with pointed nails, red outgrowths on his own face as well as many additions across all of his body.

Personality

There is not much information about him as he looks silent and very reserved as a demon which makes his personality shows his strength and makes others from the Twelve Kizuki respect him. He is also a humble person who didn’t hesitate to admit and show his failure or complain besides showing his loyalty to Muzan while doing all of his actions with the purpose of fulfilling the demon king’s goals.

Kokushibo was always happy when someone challenges him in a fight, characters like Muichiro Tokito, Akaza, Doma, and Gyomei Himejima, he finds his happiness in such fights with talented people although when he realized he died he felt irritation besides pitting for Gyomei because of his impending death as a result of unlocking his Demon Slayer Marks.

Abilities

Overall Abilities: Kokushibo was a strong demon, the strongest demon between the Twelve Kizuki and all the other demons of course after Muzan Kibutsuji. He has long experience killing Hashira and fighting against powerful characters as it takes 2 or more of the strongest Hashira to fight him.

The abilities he, as well as his talent and skills, helped him defeat two Hashira easily and then fight against two other Hashira Sanemi and Gyomei the two strongest in Demon Slayer Corps even when both awakened their Demon Slayer Marks he still was able to stand against them both simultaneously.

Demon Slayer Mark: Kokushibo first used his Demon Mark when Yoriichi trained him even if its abilities aren’t known but it makes her holder powerful than he was so it really helps, However, it has negatives such as dying at the age of 25 for Humans, although Demons are not affected because they don’t die until someone kills them.

This ability is the same one Yoriichi has as he got this skill plus the ability to use it permanently, it allows him to see the blood flow, muscles, and the joint movement of anyone this way he assumes attacks and movements of his opponents. He knew also that Muichiro is related to him and with one look he knew and identified his skill level as well as Sanemi, and Gyomei.

Yoriichi Tsugikuni

Yoriichi is related to Kokushibo or (Michikatsu), he was his younger twin brother. Michikatsu was looking at his brother as weak until Yoriichi defeated his teacher then he started changing his mindset towards him.

Muichiro Tokito

When Kokushibo met Muichiro the first time, he said immediately that there may be something between them but he don’t know what is it exactly, Muichiro is the descendant of Kokushibo but their power levels are far different.

Gyomei Himejima

Gyomei is one of the characters that Kokushibo likes because of his power and enjoying fighting him even Kokushibo is stronger and already defeated him but Gyomei is still one of the characters he respects.

Muzan Kibutsuji

Muzan met Kokushibo and found him heard that the Demon Slayer Mark will make him die at the age of 25 so he offered him to become a demon so he lives forever, However, though Kokushibo was a demon slayer he accepted Muzan’s offer and become the Demon we are talking about now and a member of the Twelve Kizuki.
