South Koreans are known to take great care of their bodies. They eat carefully and do everything possible to maintain the desired shape. But sometimes, due to unforeseen circumstances, a person may gain weight. This could be due to physical or mental health issues. South Korea has some strict ideas about the ideal body type. Hence, maintaining a certain weight and body type is more natural than a choice. The diet is a show that aims to achieve these goals. Two episodes are already on hold, and Episode 3 of The Diet will air in the next three days.
KBS2 came up with an innovative offering idea to help lose weight as well as keep your mental health intact while doing so. It’s more of a variety show, hosted by MC Kim Shin Young who is known for her inspiring weight loss journey. Having a host who has experience in this field makes the show more realistic and legitimate.
Summary of the “diet” and the diet crew
The drama began broadcasting on April 30, 2022, and two episodes have already been published. The show features many celebrities from K-pop stars to actresses. The show is an all-female band, so the girls are really alike and can really be their natural selves on the show. After all, the show is supposed to make them gain self-esteem and be happy in their bodies.
In the first episode, we get to know all the cast members who will be participating. We have the host of the show, Kim Shin Young, who lost 38 kg and her journey is inspiring to many. We have actress Ha Jae Suk, famous choreographer Bae Yoon Jung, and actress Go Eun Ah as part of the show. In addition, we have Brave Girls’ Yujeong, Youtuber Kim Ju Yeon, and popular songwriter Park Moon Chi. All girls are experts in their field. On the show, we’ll see a more candid side of them.
In the first episode, everyone introduces themselves and goes on a field trip. It is introductory in nature. In the second episode, we saw everyone move into a house designed specifically for this show. All the girls do a profile quiz where they discuss the things they would like to work on. Some wanted to get rid of belly fat, while some aimed for a more comprehensive weight-control plan. It’s worth noting how the show includes every body type.
After that, they prepare diet food that surprises most of them. The idea of nutrition and diet was refuted in the episode. In fact, anyone interested in a healthy lifestyle can follow the routine shown on the TV show.
Diet Episode 3 Preview
The heart-warmer part came in the second half of the episode. After dinner, the girls sat together in a circle. Women discuss the issues they encountered and faced on their fitness journey. Fortunately, we have Kim Shin Young who doesn’t leave the environment too much. She clearly knows how to break the ice. Also, the weighing journey is not a mystery. Hence, she has a lot of precious tips to impart. Towards the end of Episode 2, we saw the participants begin their first exercise routine. This routine was introduced by a multi-celebrity fitness trainer, Jung Jae Chul.
Towards the end, the girls end up talking about food and food only and questioning whether they will achieve their goals before the show ends. Well, that’s something we’re striving for. It’s a good show to follow if you’re interested in getting fit this summer.

Episode 3 of The Diet will end on May 14, 2022. Go on with the show if you want to have a summer party without a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. At least that’s what the show’s co-makers promised. The show will only have 10 episodes, so it will be worth watching.
